In Singapore, we conduct school talks on Singapore's key conservation issues, skills workshops on 21st century skills for students and teachers, along with complimentary education resources and activities for both in school and at home.
We run the Eco-Schools Programme, a UNESCO recognised world leading Environmental Education framework. This programme equips students with essential knowledge and skills to make changes within their campus.
Through Educator Development, we help guide teaching staff on integrating environmental education into their school curriculum and everyday teaching.
The WWF School Talks challenge students to take action with WWF by adopting sustainable lifestyle practices. Each talk will be delivered within 30 to 45 minute duration, depending on the age group of the students. We can only offer one talk per session per group.
Please fill up the request form below. Submitting this form does not confirm the school talk. We will get back to you shortly.
We organise regular virtual sessions to introduce skills such as public speaking, doodling, storytelling and photography. Visit our Choose Nature google site to find out the latest available session!
We provide a wide range of classroom resources and real-world activities to engage and inspire young people. Check them out at our Choose Nature google site!
The WWF Eco-Schools Programme focuses on student-led initiatives by supporting and empowering students to become leaders of change among their school community.
It follows a 7-steps framework, enabling students with a self-motivated mindset, arming them with skills and responsibilities as a global citizen of the planet.
In Singapore, key projects are available for Eco-Schools, where students can work closely with us to establish change in each school.
● Schools for Climate Action
● Change the way you think about Waste
● Change the way you think about Food
Projects are designed to align with MOE's curriculum. There will be a dedicated WWF consultant to guide your students.
Climate change is the defining issue of our time. Countries across the world need to act urgently to implement their climate change commitments and limit the impacts of global warming. Without clear actions to reduce our emissions while changing how economies are powered, adapting to impacts of climate change in the future will be even more difficult and costly. We work with schools in Singapore to take climate action and adopt a net zero emissions target by 2050. The Schools for Climate Action project equips students to learn and apply the concept of calculating their school’s carbon footprint. They then work together to formulate an action plan that will be implemented in their school or local community to reduce emissions over a period of time. This project provides a real world opportunity for Singapore’s youths to take climate action, learn skills and apply techniques that positively influence values of their community. How does the project work?

Today, we are using more resources than nature can sustainably provide. This overconsumption comes at a cost to nature, contributing to excessive waste and polluting natural environments. To ensure a thriving nature and liveable climate, we need to change the way we think about waste. WWF works with schools in Singapore to change the way they approach waste and support a circular economy. Students learn about circular economy using the Ellen MacArthur concepts. They then apply design thinking to formulate an action plan that will be implemented in their school or local community to better manage waste over a period of time. How does the project work?

To ensure a sustainable and resilient future, what food we produce matters, how we produce it matters, and what we eat matters. We need to change the way we think about food. WWF works with schools in Singapore to contribute to a better food system by making choices that are better for people and the planet. Through our programme, students learn the concept of a sustainable diet, and get their school community to take positive action. By providing a safe, real world opportunity to take action, apply skills and techniques while influencing the values of a community, students become part of Singapore’s ground up movement to transform how we produce and choose our food. How does the project work?

If your school is successfully implementing the seven steps of the WWF Eco-Schools process, you should consider applying for an Eco-Schools award to recognise, chart and celebrate student initiatives in your school.
There are three levels of awards (in ascending order): the bronze and silver certificates and the most prestigious Eco-School International Green Flag. Each award is defined by a set of criteria that help you decide whether your school has achieved the required standard.
Commonwealth Secondary School Nan Hua High School Ang Mo Kio Secondary School Northoaks Primary School |
Shuqun Primary School Marsiling Primary School St Anthony's Primary School Greenwood Primary School Punggol Primary School |
Anchor Green Primary School Hwa Chong International School Pioneer Primary School Nexus International School Clementi Town Secondary School |
The Award Criteria will be made available to registered WWF Eco-Schools. Schools may apply for the award, during specific periods as announced by WWF-Singapore.
Bronze and the Silver Awards are usually granted (in the form of a certificate) after the school’s application report is assessed by an evaluator assigned by WWF-Singapore. These will remain valid for a year, and you need to reapply the following year.
Green Flag recipients will receive and can display the Green Flag in the campus. The school will also be awarded a certificate and the permission to jointly use the official WWF logo and the Green Flag on its letterhead and other school material. This remains valid for two years after which you need to reapply to renew your award.
WWF works closely with teachers to enable better understanding and integration of environmental topics into every aspect of teaching. Check out the following resources and complete the certification in Education for a Sustainable Planet!
